About
Research, portfolio strategy, and expansion planning for a brand's licensing program, with citations and trade-offs. Use when the user asks for research on a potential licensor or competitive landscape, a portfolio memo (which licenses to renew/drop/grow), expansion pipeline scoring, outreach drafts to licensing offices, or analysis of royalty/submission trends. Analysis-only — does not file applications, submit royalty reports, or send external emails without human approval. Hand execution work off to bm360-api, bm360-web, brandcomply-campus, or brandcomply-college.
What it does
- Research potential new licensors and score them against your portfolio (5-factor rubric)
- Investigate trademark conflicts, licensor history, and public filings (Tavily, USPTO, SEC)
- Read your Drive / Sheets / Gmail archive for precedent on any question
- Maintain an expansion pipeline in Sheets (researched → pitched → signed)
- Draft personalized outreach emails with verified talking points (under 150 words)
- Build portfolio maps — growing / flat / declining licenses with renewal strategy recommendations
- Identify under-exploited licenses (broad rights, few SKUs)
- Draft quarterly and annual strategy memos in a fixed format
- Summarize long documents, build one-pagers on any licensor
- Answer ad-hoc questions with confidence ratings and 'what I couldn't check' sections
What it won't do
- Won't file IPM applications or submissions — that's BM360 API / BM360 Web / BrandComply Ops
- Won't sign agreements, negotiate terms, or make commitments about pricing or timelines
- Won't send outreach without human approval
- Won't poach licensors that direct competitors currently hold
- Won't give legal advice — cites what it found and defers to counsel
- Won't speculate beyond what the data supports — says 'I don't know' and proposes how to find out
